Case Brief
During an immigration inspection, Brazilian Customs seized a container numbered GAOU 632535-0 at the Port of Santos. The container contained 1,000 pieces of networking equipment bearing the trademark of one of our clients, which falls under the category of the client's registered trademark. The container was shipped from Shekou Port in China to Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, and the importer's information was not disclosed due to tax confidentiality principles.
After learning of this information through Brazilian office, we judged that this batch of goods was most likely not provided by our client and was instead counterfeit. We promptly contacted the client and confirmed that the products were indeed counterfeit. Subsequently, we submitted materials such as a declaration and requested Customs to destroy this batch of goods.
Later, Brazilian Customs received several more batches of counterfeit products entering the country. On behalf of our client company, we submitted destruction requests for all of them and successfully prevented the counterfeit products from entering Brazil.
