The year 2023 of WEIPR.
I. Won Many Awards in Hubei Province High-Value Patent Competition
In order to accelerate the construction of a high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement intellectual property province, and to further stimulate the innovation vitality and dynamic of the province, Hubei Intellectual Property Bureau carried out the Third Hubei Province High-Value Patent Competition.
After evaluation, Hubei Intellectual Property Bureau released the awarded cases list of the patent competition, among which 2 gold awards, 3 silver awards and 4 excellent awards were all cases represented by Wuhan WEIPR IP.
II. Won Two Cases of Patent Invalidation
In January and February 2023, WEIPR was commissioned to represent Spanish company F to request the invalidation of Chinese Design Patent No. 202xxxxxxxxx.2 and Spanish company D to request the invalidation of Chinese Design Patent No. 202xxxxxxxxx.0 respectively. In the end, the two patents in question were declared invalid due to lack of novelty.
In order to provide domestic and overseas clients with more professional and exquisite intellectual property services such as trademark and patent registration, litigation, and rights protection, WEIPR has intensified its efforts to further develop the foreign-related business unit, absorbed more talents and equipped with global patent, trademark and litigation databases to consolidate the whole process of filing, searching, invalidation, litigation, and rights protection, and provide clients with one-stop foreign-related intellectual property agency and consulting services.
III. Hosted Nonprofit Training
On March 1-3, 2023, the “Thousands of Enterprises Help to Cultivate Talents” nonprofit training on the specialized, special and new-featured intellectual property rights protection was hosted by WEIPR at the New Beacon Hotel, Jiayuan Road, East Lake Hi-Tech Development Zone, Wuhan.
WEIPR believes that through continuous training, it will be able to help more “specialized, special and new” enterprises improve their innovation competitiveness and effectively promote them to become the vanguard of high-quality development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Wuhan.
IV. Obtained Excellent Grade in Sample Inspection on Quality of Patent Application Documents
Hubei Intellectual Property Bureau conducted a random inspection of the disclosed invention patent application documents of 205 patent agencies inside and outside the province engaged in patent agency in Hubei province in 2022. Wuhan Zhiquan Patent Agent, LLP of Wuhan WEIPR IP has been awarded the grade of excellent in the quality assessment of patent application documents!
V. Ranked as an AAAAA-grade Patent Agent in Hubei Province
Commissioned by Hubei Intellectual Property Bureau, Hubei Provincial Patent Agents Association launched the 2022 Hubei Provincial Patent Agent Grading Assessment in January 2023 based on the “Hubei Provincial Patent Agent Grading Plan”. After the evaluation by experts and validation by the evaluation group, Wuhan Zhiquan Patent Agent LLP. of Wuhan WEIPR IP was ranked as an AAAAA-grade patent agent in Hubei Province. There were only 10 AAAAA-grade agents in Hubei Province.
VI. Five WEIPR-ers Are Selected into Trademark Talent Pool 2023
In October 2022, the China Trademark Association issued the “Evaluation Standard for Professional Competence of Trademark Agents (for trial implementation)” to determine the trademark talent pool. The standard divides the professional competence of trademark agents into five levels, from low to high, as Level 3, Level 2, Level 1, Senior and Extraordinary.
WEIPR has a total of 5 staff selected into the Trademark Talent Pool 2023. Among them, one is an extraordinary level trademark talent, one is a senior level trademark talent and three are level 1 trademark talents.
VII. Selected as a Patent Navigation Service Institution of Wuhan Intellectual Property Protection Centre
According to the relevant requirements of the “Notice on the Organization of Declaring the Patent Navigation Service Institutions Pool” of Wuhan Intellectual Property Protection Centre, 31 units were chosen into the Patent Navigation Service Institutions Pool of Wuhan Intellectual Property Protection Centre after declaration and examination, and WEIPR was successfully included in the pool!
Recently, Wuhan Intellectual Property Protection Centre issued a circular about the public service situation of the patent navigation service institutions, which shows that in the second half of 2023, WEIPR actively cooperated with Wuhan Protection Centre and had carried out intellectual property rights training, expert consulting seminars and other public services twice.
In the future, WEIPR will, as always, cooperate with Wuhan Intellectual Property Protection Centre making contributions to the high-quality development of intellectual property rights by being enthusiastic about public welfare and serving enterprises.
VIII. Contributed to Client’s Winning of the “China Patent Silver Award”
One patent represented by Wuhan WEIPR IP won the 24th “China Patent Silver Award”.
“China Patent Award” is a national award, which is highly credible, representative, and influential in China’s patent field.
IX. Successfully Selected into the List of Top 600 Trademark Agents in China and Ranked Top 5% Trademark Agents Nationwide
On November 22nd, the List of Top 600 Trademark Agents in China directed by China Trademark Association was published. By virtue of its high-quality trademark agency service and good reputation in the industry, Wuhan WEIPR IP was successfully selected into the list and ranked top 5% trademark agents nationwide.
WEIPR’s inclusion on the list fully reflects that its professional capabilities were recognized by China Trademark Association, and it will continue to work hard and give best performance in trademark representing, further strengthen the team’s professional level, and strives to provide customers with high-quality and efficient services.
X. Won Two Cases of Trademark Invalidation Based on Well-Known Trademark Terms
WEIPR successfully represented the invalidation of two trademarks under Article 13 of the Trademark Law, which is one of the rare cases of re-determination of well-known trademark in China in the past two years, and is a typical case of giving well-known trademarks a high level of protection under the current Trademark Law.
