Recently, the final round of the inaugural Central China Six Provinces High-Value Patent Competition was held in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The competition was guided by the People's Government of Hubei Province and jointly organized by the Intellectual Property Offices of six provinces including Hubei, Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan and Hunan. A total of 118 high-value projects in key areas such as optoelectronic information, high-tech services, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy sources and materials as well as biomedicine advanced to the finals.
After comprehensive evaluation by experts, 30 first prizes were awarded along with 39 second prizes and 49 third prizes. The patent “A Single-Mode Fiber with Ultra-Low Attenuation and Large Effective Area” represented by Wuhan WEIPR IP won a first prize at this event.
Themed by “cultivate high-value patents together while empowering central China's high-quality development”, the competition aims to discover a batch of patents with great potential value and inject new impetus into central China's high-quality development by strengthening organic linkage and interactive communication among these six provinces’ high-tech industries, and promoting deep integration between patent application and economic development.
Winning the first prize at this competition highlights the profession of WEIPR in patent agency. It is also an achievement resulting from WEIPR-ers’ long-term commitment to professional construction.
