The 2025 AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress was grandly opened on September 13 at the PACIFICO Yokohama International Conference Center in Japan. WEIPR Group, led by General Manager Zhang Kai and accompanied by colleagues from the international department, participated in this global event. At Booth 39 on the first floor of the Yokohama Pacific Convention Center, the team engaged in extensive exchanges and collaboration with intellectual property professionals from around the world.

The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), established in 1897, is one of the earliest non-governmental intellectual property organizations globally. It currently boasts over 8,700 members from more than 130 countries and regions. Following the 2024 Hangzhou Congress, the Yokohama event stands as another landmark international gathering hosted by AIPPI, attracting nearly 3,000 experts, lawyers, patent and trademark attorneys, corporate legal counsel, academics, and judges from over 120 countries and regions.

The first day of the congress featured a series of events including an opening ceremony, welcome reception, meetings of heads of national and regional chapters, and a plenary session. Throughout the conference, representatives from the global IP community engaged in in-depth discussions and voted on several key issues.

As an exhibitor, WEIPR Group welcomed senior IP professionals from around the world at its booth. Led by General Manager Zhang Kai, the team established cooperative intentions and business connections with IP peers and relevant organizations from multiple countries, injecting new momentum into the group’s international development strategy.

The congress provided a unique platform for global IP professionals to gather, share insights, and discuss latest developments in patents, trademarks, copyright, and IP enforcement. It served as an unmissable opportunity to exchange ideas, contribute to shaping international IP policy, and expand worldwide professional networks.

WEIPR Group looks forward to leveraging this opportunity to explore cutting-edge industry issues with global partners, establish long-term collaborative relationships, and actively contribute to the role of intellectual property in driving global innovation and sustainable development.
