On July 30, 2025, the Intellectual Property Circuit Salon, hosted by the Wuhan Intellectual Property Rapid Protection Center and the Hanyang District Market Regulation Administration (Intellectual Property Office), and organized by the Wuhan Intellectual Property Service Association, Hubei Youth Innovation Park (Hanyang), and the Hanyang District Enterprise Service Center, was successfully held at the Wuhan Intellectual Property Protection (Hanyang Youth Innovation Park) Workstation. Zhang Kai, General Manager of Wuhan WEIPR IP, was invited to attend and delivered a thematic presentation titled "Pathways and Case Studies for Patent-Intensive Product Registration," offering a substantive practical session on intellectual property for technology and innovation enterprises in Hanyang District.

Attendees included Ding Ke, Director of the Wuhan Intellectual Property Rapid Protection Center; Xuan Wei, Head of the Intellectual Property Protection Division at the Wuhan Intellectual Property Rapid Protection Center; Yu Hao, Secretary-General of the Wuhan Intellectual Property Service Association; Su Lidi, Director of the Intellectual Property Division at the Hanyang District Market Regulation Administration; Huang Yuan, Director of the Hanyang District Enterprise Service Center; Wu Yangfan from the Sixin Subdistrict Regional Economic Development Office; as well as leaders from the Hanyang District Intellectual Property Protection Workstation and Hanyang Youth Innovation Park. The event aimed to establish a learning and exchange platform for tech enterprises, helping enhance their comprehensive intellectual property protection and utilization capabilities while clarifying pathways for innovation-driven development.
As a seasoned professional in the intellectual property services sector, General Manager Zhang Kai’s presentation systematically explored the core aspects of patent-intensive products, covering concepts and core corporate benefits, registration and certification processes, key considerations, and concrete case studies. He emphasized that patent-intensive product registration is an official confirmation mechanism uniformly organized by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). Through a two-step approach of "registration first, certification follows," the system recognizes products that primarily rely on patented technology to gain market competitive advantages and exhibit high patent protection intensity and high-value contribution.

To help enterprises better understand the registration process, Zhang Kai demonstrated each step using real-world cases: from corporate registration, login, and real-name authentication on the national patent-intensive product registration pilot platform, to patent information management and product data submission, through to review and maintenance. Each stage was accompanied by practical operational guidance. He specifically reminded attendees that registration remains open year-round, but data must be updated annually between January and April. The certification application deadline for 2025 is September 15; enterprises failing to complete on time will be deferred to the following year. He advised companies to plan their schedules effectively and ensure all materials are authentic and valid.
